JOHOR BAHRU: Police arrested a person for an alleged offensive Fb posting towards the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.

Johor police chief Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd stated the person was arrested at about 6.30pm Thursday on the compound of the Baling police station in Kedah.

"Johor police acquired a report immediately (Thursday) of an offensive posting towards the Sultan of Johor on Fb.

"Investigation papers have been opened to hint the person believed to be concerned in posting the offensive remarks," he stated in a press release.

Wan Ahmad Najmuddin stated from fast motion by Johor police in collaboration with the Kedah police Business Crime Investigation Division, the person was detained yesterday.

He stated police additionally seized three cell phones, three sim playing cards, 5 reminiscence playing cards and a pendrive from the person whereas the case can be investigated beneath Part 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
